~My life is like a candle; by the time the strong wind blows, the flame tends to get weak; but with the hands of the bearer used as a shield to the wind, the flame continues to burn and melt the candle. The candle gives light and heat to people who are living in darkness and cold. The flame of the candle symbolizes the holy spirit and the faith of all followers of Jesus Christ. ~

Younger Years in Parallel
The Prelude...
I am going to tell you about the beginning...of my mother's life...
She was born on May 30, 1958... in Cebu City... and was baptised as "Flora Sanchez Alvarez".
When she was in 4th grade, she lost her good eye sight... and became a 4-eyed girl... for having reading glasses with her. But she was aware that some of her relatives are teachers. She was also fond of singing... and at young age, she likes to smile in front of the camera during pictorials. She graduated as a pupil (6th grade) in Hipodromo Elementary School.
During High School (she studied in Abellana High School, she always mentioned that she was in section 7), she became an amateur singer and the breadwinner of her family. She won a lot of singing contests; mostly are singing contests of different radio stations. Her family (Parents & Siblings) had a lot of progress, they had more financial support and more food.
After graduating in High School, she wanted to be a teacher... so she must enroll in Cebu Normal College... but her father (my grandfather), refused and told her to get another course. So, she went to University of the Visayas and had a course called "BS-Commerce" ; which lately was called "BS-Accountancy". And during that time, my mother became a Professional Singer. With a level of a Performer. One of the most high-paying job at that time; of course with a higher tax.

The Climax...
She and the man (Ronquillo Fernandez Marollano; my father) she trusted... went together and became a new family. Due to the reason of having strict parents, they escaped to the islands... Bantayan Group of Islands. On April 17, 1978, my older brother was born.
And came back to Cebu City... after a few years... Telling them that, she had a son named "Ken".
My mother went to Japan as an OFW. She continued her singing career, as a Filipino Performer in a Foreign Nation. In Japan, her name became "Furora".
And came back to Philippines after the contract ended. She had another contract signed and went back to Japan. And came back to Philippines after the contract ended. She had another contract signed and went back to Japan. And came back to Philippines after the contract ended.
But one time, without knowing she's pregnant.. She had another contract signed and went back to Japan. And came back to Philippines for the delivery of a child. I was born on October 13, 1989; the child named "Kevin". But her husband ( my father), did not agreed. And chosen another name. Way back in my father's career, during his work... he was known as "Keith". Because his nickname is "Kit".
So, I was baptised as "Keith Alvarez Marollano". My mother had given me a nickname to take away confusion of identity. So, my nickname was "Kiki", a famous animé in Japan. To her, it sounded cute, so she continued calling me by that nickname. But some of our relatives, prefered to sound it like a man... so they call me , Keith-Kevin or Kevin-Keith or simply "Keike".

The Conflicts of Fate... Bloody Weaknesses.
As a young boy aged 2 until 3; I was hospitalized for several times. My blood went weaker due to sudden change of environmental temperature. And was diagnosed by Medical Doctors and the result ... it was found out as a "Convulsive Fever". And the solution, was to have Blood-Transfusion again and again. To replenish the lost bloods.
And at almost the same time-frame; my older brother got sick. Still related to human blood.
During a boyscout camping inside the campus, he was bitten by a mosquito. And it was found out as a "Dengue Fever". And the solution, was to have Blood-Transfusion again and again. To replenish the lost bloods.
---------
Reliving the Remote Islet.
Our family (Marollano Family), went back to Doong (an Islet of Bantayan Group of Islands) or Internationally named as "Don Island".
And in December 20, 1996 ... our younger sister was born. And she's the youngest amongst us as a family with five members. Her name was "Kathleen" but our family was forced to change her name to "Kris". Due to my Auntie's Daughter was named "Kathleen".
"And she was baptised on fire of love and faith", as the priest who conducted the Christening had said; She was baptised as "Kris Alvarez Marollano".
And so, let me end the story here.
